Session Replacement Policy

Purpose:

To allow a skater to replace session/day that they are not able to attend, and provide some flexibility to Club members in situations where they must miss their regular sessions. Skaters are permitted to replace up to five days in Fall/Winter and two in each Pre-Summer and Summer.

Policy:

  1. The skater/parent or skaters’ coach must inform the Skating Coordinator (by email) at least two days before the desired replacement session/day. A skater may request permission to skate on any session that they qualify for. The Skating Coordinator will verify the numbers on the requested session to ensure there is space available.
  2. Due to scheduling, a skater may request to skate on a session that is not their level. This request will be handled the same way as any exception to skating level criteria, and must be routed through the Skating Coordinator to be discussed with the coaching staff.
  3. Any replacement session/day must be skated within one month of the absence and/or at the discretion of the Skating Coordinator. Replacement sessions/day may also be skated in advance of the missed session, if desired.
  4. A Replacement or Make-up session form must be filled out by either the coach or skater/parent before stepping on the ice. The form must indicate that this is a replacement session and which session (date and time) is being replaced, so the office does not bill for the session.
  5. The Club reserves the right to turn down a request for a replacement session where safety concerns and numbers warrant.
Failure to comply with this policy will result in the skater being charged a guest skate fee.
